This CD ROM contains the Makaton core vocabulary of over 350 words using Auslan signs as well as an additional 50 signs covered during 'Makaton Basic' Workshop.

Individual signs are arranged in suggested stages.  This program allows you to refresh, revise and practice the signs you learnt at a Basic Makaton Workshop. 

The Makaton Vocabulary CD ROM is recommended to accompany the Makaton Vocabulary Book.

" Very well made, all video clips are very clear and concise. Found  that the easiest way to find words I wanted to refresh, was thru 'word shearch.'

Once you have looked for and found a sign and you are ready to look again, go back to area you type in and just start typing the next word and automatically you will see selection go to words starting with letters you have typed.

Found the multiple choice questions a great way to test a childs understanding. If they are unable to use mouse on computer to select their choice I give them a sheet of paper with the same images on it, for them to point to.( I printed up a sheet with the boardmaker choices and laminated it.) I then click on their choice.

Some of the signs are done very big when demonstrated. Just remember to relax and dont shout (exaggerate the signs too much). The sign is just  as effective if done with smaller move (ie brother).

Fingerspelling section would be better if it actually went thru the alphabet for people to practice."
